Oh, of course, Russ! And my mom took me to a twi-night double header around that time. We drove down in our Chevy convertible and parked on the sidewalk in North Philly, if you can imagine -- And with your mention in the piece of Tony Taylor and Richie Allen you brought back two of my favorite players. I also liked Tony Gonzalez. Yes, of course, the Phils, and . . .
Oh, no! Oh, God! The collapse of -- was it -- 1964. Have you written about that yet? Oh, dear. I've just been reminded of that, too. You've brought back the bitter with the sweet, Russ. But thanks --
Yes! All those good 1964 memories melted with that collapse in September. We went to the park in those days and parking was a challenge. You usually had to pay a kid 50 cents to “watch your car.”
I remember watching the game with my dad.
I remember your dad, Jay. Nice man.
A wonderful memory for me, and yours with your dad and grandad just perfect. Thanks, Russ!
I was a baseball nut in those days. Did you like to follow the Phillies?

Didn't realize how rare a perfect was in 1964. Great story Russ!
Thank you, Mark.
Great memory and nice read.
Thanks, Keith.
